Outreach
As compassionate members of Mount Calvary we realize many people in our community do not have access to basic necessities. Many of us are blessed with the Time, Treasures and Talents to enable us to put our faith into action and share these resources to help meet the needs of those around us.
Mount Calvary has an Outreach Coordinating Committee (OCC) that helps assess how our congregation can make a real difference and lasting change. Based on the recent survey, church members have indicated that our outreach focus should respond to four basic areas of human need including: Food Security, Housing Security, Family Services and Disaster Relief.
These areas of need are focused on by newly formed “planning groups.” Each group identifies programs that our parishioners can volunteer with, as well as making financial gifts to those programs, after carefully researching (vetting) the mission, goals and stability of those programs. Our work is concentrated on developing local partnerships, but we also respond to the needs of our nation and world.
